Ryan Coram joined Akin & Tate in 2019. Born in Fort Benning, Georgia, he later moved to and grew up in Chatsworth, Georgia. Prior to joining Akin & Tate, he worked for an insurance defense firm in Marietta, Georgia.
He graduated from Georgia State University College of Law with Highest Distinction Pro Bono Honors in 2017. While in law school, he worked as a Student Attorney in the law school’s Philip C. Cook Low-Income Taxpayer Clinic where he was recognized for his work and awarded the Dean R. Morley Fellowship and the Allyson and Jason Wiggam Fellowship awards. He also received the Mark and Jodie Mesler Dean R. Morley Award, the Atlanta Bar Foundation’s J.B. Moore Award and the 506th Airborne Infantry Regiment Association Scholarship – the NAVILLUS award. He was awarded the Best Summary Judgment Brief Award in a required litigation course.
He served as President of the Asian American Law Student Association and helped raise money for the law school’s annual Public Interest Law Association Auction. Ryan also clerked for the Honorable Alison Smith-Lynn at the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. He is a member of the State Bar of Georgia’s Section on Workers’ Compensation and Insurance Law. Ryan is admitted to practice before all Georgia superior courts, Georgia Court of Appeals, and Georgia Supreme Court. Prior to law school, Ryan graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science in 2011. Outside of the office, Ryan enjoys weight-lifting and cheering on the Atlanta Falcons, Atlanta Braves, and the Georgia Bulldogs.
